Pain Source Exam in Tampa
Pain has a source. This visit looks for where it is coming from.
You'll get a complete examination with Dr. Bobby Koser, DC, which may include a live ultrasound look at the muscles and soft tissue where it hurts, and treatment starts the same visit unless the examination finds a reason it should not: a chiropractic adjustment, dry needling, cupping, laser, or electrical stimulation with infrared, chosen from what the examination finds and what is safe for you. You'll leave knowing what we found and what it means.
What happens at this visit?
Here is how the visit runs, start to finish. If you already have an MRI, X-ray, or CT, bring the report and the disc. Dr. Koser completed post-doctoral training in spinal MRI interpretation and clinical correlation, and going through your imaging with you is part of the visit.

Dr. Koser examines you
A complete examination with Dr. Bobby Koser, DC, chiropractic physician. He checks how you move, tests the joints and muscles, and works through your whole presentation, beyond the one spot that hurts.

A live ultrasound look
Dr. Koser places the ultrasound probe on the area that brought you in so he can see the muscle and soft tissue and how deep it sits. You can watch the screen with him. This is a visual look during your visit. It is not a full imaging study, and it does not take the place of an X-ray or MRI when one is needed.
The Pain Source Exam may include a live ultrasound look at the area that hurts. -
Treatment the same day, when it is appropriate
A chiropractic adjustment, dry needling for trigger points (tight, painful knots in a muscle) or myofascial pain (pain coming from a muscle and its covering tissue), or both if it is safe for you. Dr. Koser tells you what he plans to do before he does it, and you decide.

Dr. Koser walks you through what he found, along with what he suggests as a next step, written down so you can think it over at home.
Focused on one area of concern
Your examination covers your whole presentation, while the ultrasound and treatment focus on the problem that brought you in. Additional areas are addressed at follow-up visits.

Join after this visit and there is no enrollment evaluation fee. Dr. Koser has already examined you, so you would simply start your monthly plan.
The arithmetic is straightforward. A single chiropractic adjustment is $60. Membership plans are available, and the rates and terms are set in the membership agreement. Membership rates apply only under a signed membership agreement.
A membership is a direct agreement between you and this practice. It is not health insurance, and we do not bill any insurer for services included in a membership.
Common questions
Is this covered by insurance?
No. The Pain Source Exam is for self-pay patients. We do not bill insurance, PIP or auto claims, Medicare, or Medicaid for this visit. If you were injured in a car accident, book the Auto Accident Injury Visit instead. Accident care has its own rules and its own paperwork.
What if I've been seen here before?
This is a new-patient price, one per patient. If it's been more than a year since we've seen you, call and we'll tell you exactly what your visit will cost before you book. If you're a current patient, call us or book the visit type you normally use.
Do I get treatment the same day?

Not every visit. The Pain Source Exam may include a live ultrasound look at the muscle and soft tissue where it hurts, to see how deep it sits and to confirm visually as he treats. On follow-up visits Dr. Koser uses it when your problem calls for it. It's a look during your visit, not a full imaging study, and it doesn't take the place of an X-ray or MRI when one is needed.
Can I start a membership after this visit?
