Providing adjustments for optimal spine and joint health

SPINE & JOINT MANIPULATION

Specific and gentle chiropractic manipulations (also known as adjustments) are performed to the neck, mid back, low back, and other various joints to decrease muscle tightness, increase pain free range of motion, and improve joint function. We are able to adjust using various methods to our patient’s preferences. Some of these techniques such as manual manipulation (Diversified adjustments) involve pushing on the spine and joints and may create a clicking or popping sound. Other techniques such as instrument adjusting (Activator), flexion/distraction technique, and drop table are more gentle and typically do not typically result in this clicking or popping sound from our joints.

Feel the difference with cold laser

COLD LASER THERAPY

Cold laser therapy, also called low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a form of light therapy that triggers biochemical changes within the cells in the body. Photons from the laser are absorbed by photoreceptors in the cells, triggering chemical changes that are beneficial to the human body. The wavelength of cold lasers is between 600 to 1000 nm and is used for pain reduction and healing stimulation. Many studies have shown the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of cold laser therapy.

Working on muscles with our hands and tools

MANUAL THERAPY

Manual therapy is a broad term that encompasses many different techniques to work on the musculoskeletal system. Trigger point (or areas of pain and tenderness within the muscles), muscle tightness and spams can be worked on using techniques the the practitioners hands or even tools. Instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM) uses a surgical grade steel tool specially designed to reduce adhesions, increase circulation, and improve range of motion. These forms of therapy are not your typical massage and are more focused deep tissue therapies.

Using sound waves to reduce pain

THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound therapy has been used for decades to reduce edema, increase circulation, and decrease pain. This therapy conducts an electrical signal through crystals installed in the head of the ultrasound probe. These crystals vibrate and create mechanical waves at frequencies outside the range of human hearing (20 hertz to 20000 hertz). These sound waves produced transfer energy either to the surface of the human body or maybe focused to target deeper tissues depending on the settings used.

Gentle and relaxing therapy using electric current

ELECTRIC STIMULATION (E-STIM)

Low levels of interferential electric current through electrode pads are used to reduce muscle spasm, increase circulation, and reduce pain. This current penetrates deep in to the tissues and has been shown to be effective at improving range of motion. This treatment is also quite relaxing, with many patients finding themselves falling asleep during therapy.

CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS

Over 3/4 of Americans experience foot pain in their lifetime. Foot orthotics are an effective non-invasive treatment for conditions involving the feet and other parts of the leg. Foot orthotics are also prescribed to treat and relieve low back pain in cases where it is suspected to be tied together. At our office, we use a laser scanner to completely map out your feet and send the data to the lab to make your custom fit orthotics.
